COOLSCULPTING

WHAT IS COOLSCULPTING?

Bid farewell to fat with Coolsculpting in Putnam County. Coolsculpting is a non-invasive, no down-time procedure to get rid of unwanted areas of fat. The process uses controlled cooling to destroy fat cells and apoptosis occurs (cell death, a normal metabolic process). These fat cells are eliminated without harming any other cells in your body. Your body then goes through its normal metabolic process to get rid of these dead cells. Once destroyed, these fat cells can never return, the procedure is permanent.

What areas can be treated with Coolsculpting?

Coolsculpting can be used in many areas including:

  • Abdomen
  • Submental Fat (Under chin)
  • Flanks (love handles)
  • Inner thighs
  • Bra Rolls
  • Outer thighs
  • Distal thigh (above the knee fat)
  • Banana Roll (fat below the buttock region)

Coolsculpting is a form of cryolipolysis, which uses very low temperature to damage fat cells as the cold crystallizes the cells’ lipids. As a result, the fat cells die and are naturally filtered out by the body.

Since lipids require a higher temperature to freeze, Coolsculpting does not affect the non-lipid cells. This means that the treatment does not cause any damage to blood vessels, nerves, or muscles. Because of this, Coolsculpting is considered a selective type of cryolipolysis.

When will I see my Coolsculpting results?

Results are based on how quickly and effectively your body is able to excrete cells. Result can be seen as early as 4 weeks but may take up to 3 months to see in some patients.

Is there downtime with Coolsculpting?

No! You may resume normal activities right after your treatment.

Your Coolsculpting consultation

During your initial consultation, we will review your fat-loss and body-shaping goals and determine if Coolsculpting can help you reach these goals. We will perform a physical examination and go over your complete medical history.

We will also discuss Coolsculpting, explain how it works, and tell you what to expect on the day of the treatment. We will be happy to answer any questions.

As part of the consultation, we will discuss the cost of getting Coolsculpting and give you preparation instructions. We will also determine how many treatment sessions you will need for optimal results.

What is CoolSculpting like?

Coolsculpting does not require any sedation or anesthesia. Instead, the procedure will start with warming gel pads placed on the skin to protect it against the low temperature. The skin in the target area will be placed between the two Coolsculpting paddles, which will suction it in place.

As the procedure progresses, the cells get cooler until they freeze, causing their lipids to crystallize and die. You can read, sleep, or use a mobile device throughout the process.

After CoolSculpting

Coolsculpting requires no downtime or recovery time. It does not leave any scars, because it does not involve incisions of any kind. You may temporarily experience stinging, bruising, minor swelling, mild pain, and numbness.

The body will slowly eliminate the dead cells over the course of two to six months after the procedure. As it does so, you will notice the reduced size of the target areas. Coolsculpting usually removes around 20% of the target area.

Once the fat cells have been filtered out by the body, you can get more Coolsculpting treatments to reduce more fatty areas. You can treat an area up to three times.

How much is the cost of Coolsculpting?

The cost of Coolsculpting depends on the size and number of target areas. The number of treatment sessions required to achieve your aesthetic goals can also affect the price of treatment.
